Spring Break

This post is a little late, but better late than never, right? This spring break was pretty packed full. I tried to do something with the kids everyday. My sister came to visit for the second half of the week. The first day the kids tie dyed everything they could find. I bought a bunch of shirts, hats and an apron. Then I went through the kids drawers and took out anything with a stain. I figured I was going to throw it away anyway, so they might as well tie dye it first and wear it during the summer. I really don't like tie dyed stuff that much, but we had a lot of fun.

We had a few plans fall through like the zoo and bowling, but we still got to spend a lot of time with the family. We went to the beach one day and the weather was actually really nice. Emma loved spending time with her cousin McKenna. They got to have a sleepover at Grandma's. We went to the Science Center and did so many cool things. Justin, Christy, Mom, Mckenna, and I rode a bike across the third floor balcony on a tightrope. The guy working there would tip the bike as you rode away. It was a little scary. We went in a phone booth that simulates the wind in a hurricane. We went a virtual ride that shows the life cycle of a raindrop.

Sorry the pictures are all over the place. I have been fighting a migraine since Sunday and don't have the patience to fix them right now.

Gotta Love Him

Have you ever wondered what your husband does when you're not home? Or whether or not he is really listening? Well, I don't have to wonder anymore... Today I dropped the kids off at school then went to work in Justin's classroom. He had a sub so I went to Emma's class. She had a sub too. I returned home. When I came through the door I saw Charlie setting up his 27 year-old IBM computer to take a picture for his IBM internal photo, and he was wearing an IBM shirt. He asked me to take his picture. I told him he has reached a new stratosphere of geekdom. (It reminds me of the movie PCU when this guy wants to wear the t-shirt of a band to their concert. Jeremy Piven says "what is this, you are going to wear THIS to the show ... you are going to wear the shirt of the band you are going to see ... don't be that guy ..." Charlie is that guy, only he stepped it up a few notches.) He was busy setting up and finishing getting dressed. I asked if he had gotten out the camera yet. He replied "I don't have my keys... Wait, what did you say? What did I just say?" Okay, so he doesn't listen to himself either. By the way, I took 18 pictures until he was satisfied with the right one.

Everybody Wins

Emma- Girls go to college to get more knowledge. Boys go to Jupiter to get more... smarter... and some exercise. (She won't say stupid. It is a bad word.)

Easter and more

I didn't take Easter pictures of my kids, but I did a couple Sundays before. They are so cute! We have been trying to talk to the kids about what Easter is about. Emma said we celebrate Easter because of the resurrection. (Good so far) I asked what the resurrection is and she said "Jesus showing us how to be good." Okay, we need to keep talking about it.

Here are some of my favorite current pictures. Mia looks like she wants to grow up to be a motorcycle cop.

I love her expression in this picture. Such a goof ball.

Emma playing dress up with Toby.

Easter morning.

Emma asked me to look at her muscles and put a ball in her sleeve. She is such a funny nut.
Justin and one of his many creations.

Emma and Mia like headbands with big flowers and we couldn't find them... so we made a bunch for them to wear. We bought headbands and flowers and they got to pick out how they wanted them.

Birthdays, Baby, Birthdays

I love girl's night. I have an awesome group of friends and always have so much fun. It was Juli's birthday so we went out for Thai and bowling. Only now does that seem like an odd combination. It was so fun. Juli is a great friend. She always makes everyone feel involved and special. She is really cute and stylish too. ;) Not everyone could make it for bowling afterward, but we still had a good time. Jamie, Juli, Mery and I shared a lane. After a while we started bowling in different ways i.e. eyes closed, backwards, etc.

Then I had a baby shower for my sister, Ashley. Doesn't it seem unfair that she is so cute at 8 months pregnant? We had her do a few exercises to rub it in. Christy and I kept taking pictures while we waited to get started. We made babies out of play dough and had some great food. My baby is the pink one with the umbilical cord.

Next it was my sister, Holly's, birthday. I love Holly. She is a wonderful person and so caring. We didn't get along when we were growing up, but now I can say she is someone I love to spend time with and look up to.

So Much To Blog... So Little Time

Justin has had a loose tooth. By loose tooth I mean falling out, he talks with his mouth clenched shut so it won't fall out. He said he won't eat or play at school so it won't fall out. I tried to pin him down to let it free, but Charlie intervened! ARGH!! Last night in the middle of the night he came in our room to announce his tooth had fallen out. He said that he opened his mouth and leaned forward and it just fell. I wanted to scream! I don't know why this really makes me upset, and I think it is funny too, but I still want to scream.

Yesterday Emma was wearing one of her creations...think regular clothes, two princess gowns, two blankets and some scarves and belts. Topped with sunglasses. She started to sing "I'm a rock star, I'm a rock star, I'm a rock star." Mia, who is 3 by the way, says "NO, no, no. It is `I'm a rock star, I've got my rock moves and I don't neeeeeeeeed you!'"

This morning I was taking Mia and her buddy, Landon, to preschool. I was asking them what noises animals make. I realized that I may need to spend some more one on one time with her. Her favorite animal is a unicorn and she said donkeys don't make sounds, they just talk. (A little too much Shrek.)

A Little on the Trashy Side

I was surfing the net and came across this reader's digest interview with Dolly Parton and this is my favorite part. She is so funny.

RD: How old were you when you developed your look?
Parton: I make jokes about it, but it's the truth that I kind of patterned my look after the town tramp. I didn't know what she was, just this woman who was blond and piled her hair up, wore high heels and tight skirts, and, boy, she was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. Momma used to say, "Aw, she's just trash," and I thought, That's what I want to be when I grow up. Trash.
