Baby Babbling

My father-in-law recently asked what the last "kid word" my kids said was. That got me thinking... Justin was in kindergarten and he insisted that lava was really pronounced "laba." We would tell him over and over, but he thought we were trying to trick him. We would ask any adult what the red hot stuff that comes out of volcanoes is called. They would say "lava" and he would accuse us of arraigning their answer ahead of time. This went on for a couple months. Then he started learning about volcanoes at school. He still said laba, until after school one day I asked his teacher what the red stuff is and she said "lava." He shrugged and said "oh, okay" like it was not big deal and we hadn't been talking about it for months.

Mia still says "bank you" instead of "thank you." If you talk about it in front of her she will start saying it right, so we don't talk about it. We love that she still says it that way.
